Nights at Hoi An Ancient Town become more mysterious with various kinds of hand-made lanterns. Lanterns are the result of exchanges among Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese cultures, which have been famous for their various and specific identities. One of the great pleasures of any visit to Hoi An is strolling along the beautiful streets of the old town at night, under the flickering lights of the many mesmerizing lanterns. The streets of Hoi An are at their most romantic, the darkness broken only by lanterns in all shapes and sizes.
Our local guide will meet you and you will ride together to a craftsman’s home, in the old streets. Here you will have a brief introduction into the history, shape, and color of the lanterns, as well as the many stages of making them. You can make your own lantern and keep it as a souvenir. Return to Hoi An is done by bicycle as well.
